Bio Blitz In Death Valley during Spring Bloom

At 3.6 million acres, Death Valley is the largest National Park Service holding in the lower 48 states. While known for its seemingly barren landscapes, Death Valley's wide range of elevations together with many hidden springs are home to hundreds of species of animals and perhaps a thousand kinds of plants.To better understand and appreciate this natural treasure, the National Park Service will host a 24 hour BioBlitz. The BioBlitz brings together scientists,naturalists,students and community members in an intensive survey of plants and animals, creating a snapshot of life at Death Valley.

Celestial Centennial

To Celebrate the National Park Service's 100th Birthday this year, Death Valley national Park is hosting the Celestial Centennial, a night sky and space festival. The Celestial Centennial Celebration will include talks, field trips, programs, and expositions with experts, rangers and scientists. Formerly held as MarsFest, this year's event will be broader and more expansive. Teaming up with SETI, NASA, The Planetary Institute, astronomical societies, and many more, this event will have it all.

Titus Canyon Run

This scenic wilderness trail run is on a gravel jeep road from Beatty, Nevada through the picturesque Titus Canyon, finishing in Death Valley. The entire run is in Death Valley National Park. The desert is beautiful this time of year with mild temperatures This is the most spectacular trail event of the year and well worth the weekend away. Truly, an experience you won't forget.
